This was made for a cosplay ball held in July '09. The customer didn't actually end up coming to the ball, but it has been worn since, including on a shoot with me when I was up for a visit recently :)
The dress was based on a heavily modified pattern. The mesh is a non-stretch nylon I found on TradeMe, which was a surprise - the design was perfect! Even better, I didn't have to sell my first-born child to procure it :D The rest of the dress is a stretch satin, and it closes with an invisible zip at the side seam. The trim was obscenely expensive, but again, was pretty much perfect. The flower applique is bridal satin, cut and hand-sewn to the dress and sealed with fabric paint. Armwarmers are simply tubes that close with hooks and eyes at the wrist, edged with the beaded trim.
