This outfit was made on commission for a customer based in Christchurch, for Auckland Armageddon '09. All things considered, I had a ridiculous time with it! The apron was made by the customer; I took care of the dress, shirt, petticoat and hair bow. The blue fabric for the dress is a medium-weight, slightly stretchy cotton blend and was dyed by me (twice!). Try as I might, I could not find the right shade of blue, which is pretty dumb - but hey. I managed!
There's not much to the construction of this costume - shirt, dress and petti were all made from modified patterns. The dress is faced at straps and neckline, and closes with an invisible zip. Hair bow was a fun little extra that just ties on around a ponytail.
All photos by me.
